About This Project

Pillow Whispers is an invitation to rest, read and rejuvenate. In celebration of Asian Heritage Month 2023, Morrow was transformed for a weekend into a makeshift library, filled with books of various genres all authored by Asian writers and decorated with cozy pillows and blankets. Guests were invited to participate based on their own embodied needs and curiosities providing a rare chance to slow down in a quiet space where the body’s voice could arrive at the forefront. Pillow Whispers emerged from ongoing research in intersecting the worlds of text, textiles, and embodiment upon the foundational belief that rest is a form of resistance.
