what misses, here and there there there is a dance with words about loving over distance. It explores the memories and attachments collected through travel that break us into pieces and leave us being pulled in many directions. The work describes the conflict between where we are and where we want to be, and the seemingly impossible task of holding our fantasies and realities together in one space. Existing both as an installation work and as a poetry book, the way in which it’s viewed is of equal importance to what is being viewed. Allowing the work to take these many forms is a reflection of the shape shifting that occurs as the mind and body gathers experiences during travels, as well as an expression of the importance in engaging in both private practice and community gathering. Through the use of imagery related to human sensation, the work invites the viewer to open the door to their imagination and let the dance play out in their heads.
